Wpływ kontrolowanej suszy na aktywność enzymatyczną i respirację w glebie torfowej

Celem naszych badań było określenie wpływu kontrolowanej suszy na zmiany parametrów chemicznych, aktywności enzymatycznej oraz zmian w emisji CO₂ netto w glebie torfowej torfowiska wysokiego. Dodatkowo badanie to miało na celu lepsze poznanie, jak zmieniają się te parametry w zależności od czasu trwania zróżnicowanych warunków wilgotnościowych. W tym celu dokonano poboru próbek gleb torfowych w postaci kostek i umieszczono je w komorach fitotronowych w kontrolowanych warunkach na okres 3 miesięcy. W próbkach gleby, po upływie każdego miesiąca oznaczono aktywność dehydrogenaz i β-glukozydazy jak również podstawowe właściwości chemiczne, takie jak zawartość węgla (C) i azotu (N), pH oraz zawartość kationów zasadowych. Dodatkowo wykonano serię pomiarów respiracji przy użyciu automatycznej komory pomiarowej. W naszych badaniach powiązaliśmy aktywność dehydrogenaz i β-glukozydazy oraz respirację z wybranymi parametrami chemicznymi gleby torfowej torfowiska wysokiego. Wyniki badań wykazały, że aktywność β-glukozydazy była najwyższa w wariancie kontrolnym, charakteryzującym się wyższą wilgotnością, natomiast niższe wartości obserwowano w wariancie z symulowaną suszą. Odnotowaliśmy, że aktywność dehydrogenaz dodatnio koreluje z zawartością C oraz zawartością kationów Ca²⁺, K⁺ i Mg²⁺, natomiast wykazuje ujemną korelację ze stosunkiem C/N. W przypadku β-glukozydazy stwierdzono dodatnią korelację z pHH2O, zawartością N oraz zawartością kationów K⁺ oraz Na⁺. W przeprowadzonym doświadczeniu zaobserwowano, iż wraz ze spadkiem wilgotności gleby średnia wartość emisji CO₂ netto również spadała. Nasze badania wskazują na możliwość wykorzystania aktywności enzymatycznej jako wskaźnika zmian zachodzących w efekcie symulowanej suszy w glebach torfowych.
